New Year, New Home!

The fresh start of a new year often brings changes, and there’s no better way to ring in the New Year than with a home refresh. With working from home being more popular now, most of us are spending a lot of extra time at home these days – so whether you’re looking to make a move this year or just spruce up your current space, here are a few of our favourite ways to refresh your home for 2021.

A Fresh Coat of Paint

There’s no easier way to give your home that ‘fresh’ feel than with a new coat of paint – we recommend going for a light shade to make your space feel bigger and brighter. This definitely comes in handy during our dreary Toronto winters!

New Wall Decor

It’s truly amazing what a difference a small change in wall decor can make to your home. Mirrors help make the space feel larger and bring more light into your home, and framed prints help give character to bare walls. Keeping in line with our encouragement of supporting local, check out Etsy for some amazing prints and paintings from some of Toronto’s most unique artists.

Plants & Flowers

At Luke Fraser Homes, we’re big believers in greenery & we always love having fresh flowers around – especially in the winter. Whether you prefer fresh from the local market or a fake and waterless plant is more your speed, bringing some life into your home is a great mood lifter and is an easy way to make your home feel fresh.

Throw Pillows

With all the time we’ve been spending at home lately, replacing your throw pillows and design of your living room is an awesome way to recharge your living and working space. Adding a new throw blanket is a great idea for the chilly nights and your next Netflix binge!

Staging – Is it Worth It?

Home staging is one of the easiest ways to sell your home quickly and at the highest price-point possible. Home stagers utilize their design background and extensive real estate knowledge to make a home as appealing to potential buyers as possible.

Not only is staging proven to reduce the amount of time a home spends on the market and raise the selling price, it also attracts a wider range of buyers which in turn brings more people through to view your property in person.

Here at Luke Fraser Homes, we truly believe in the power of staging and it is always included in our services. If you would like to know more about how we ensure the greatest return on investment for our clients, please give us a call. We would love to chat!

Passing the time in Quarantine

Balcony Gardening:

If you have a green thumb, you’re likely already taking advantage of this time to grow and take care of your balcony garden – for those looking to get started, Home Hardware in Liberty Village is a great place to pick up some starting supplies. They offer curbside pickup for your convenience, and they sell everything you need ranging from seeds to soil.

Support Local and Learn a New Dish:

It’s easy to get sucked into the routine of ordering in or staying in our culinary comfort zone – if you’re looking for a fun way to spend an evening, quite a few of our local restaurants in Liberty Village and on King/Queen are offering dinner kits to help subsidize their businesses. Awesome Restaurants like Terroni, Cumbrae’s and Lapinou are a few among many that can help you branch out your culinary experience!
